Strip Material
Elgiloy Specialty Metals, Strip Division, is an industry leader in the production of high quality rolled cobalt, nickel, titanium and many other high performance alloys.
Elgiloy operates multiple rolling mills and furnaces that ensure their strip is strictly controlled in every process in accordance with industry specifications. Elgiloy produces precision strip for many demanding industries and applications, including power generation, aerospace, land-based gas turbines, automotive, chemical processing, medical, aerospace, nuclear, and the oil and gas industries. Elgiloy specializes in materials that have high strength, can be used at high temperatures and withstand corrosive environments.
The state-of-the-art strip mill in Elgin, Illinois, processes gauges from 0.02 mm to 2.54 mm in the annealed condition. The range of annealed thicknesses is 0.02 mm to 1.57 mm, with widths up to 381 mm.
Wire/Round bars
Elgiloy processes high-quality round and shaped wire and rod in sizes ranging from 0.025 mm to 22.22 mm in diameter. Elgiloy manufactures a variety of nickel, stainless steel and cobalt alloys, including the trademarked Elgiloy® alloy, to exacting specifications. Flexible and agile processing allows for rapid manufacturing from prototype to production quantities.
The Sycamore, Illinois, facility draws wire in both oil and soap. Rotary peeling and centerless grinding are offered for customers requiring special surface treatments. Formed wire products in flat, square and special shapes are also available.
